The journalists were right though. Bloggers can't do what journalists used to be able to do. Of course, to an extent, journalist (like cab drivers) should a small part of the blame here. Too many journalists weren't really well informed about the areas they were covering. Too many Judith Martins and too few David Rosenbaums.

But the market doesn't seem to want to pay for the Rosenbaums.

Along those lines, why are so many people willing to write for Huffpo for free, and why would people think that reading something that isn't even valued by its creators is worth their time?
