Dick Cheney has become a moral compass and voice of reason? I have officially seen it all.

Rod Weader, a 68-year-old real estate agent from North Charleston who attended the rally and said he agreed with Trump's plan "150 percent."

"As he says, we have to find out who they are and why they are here," he said.

edit:

Trump's proposed ban would apply to immigrants and visitors alike, a sweeping prohibition affecting all adherents of a religion practiced by more than a billion people worldwide.

Trump defended his plan for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" by comparing it with President Franklin Roosevelt's decision to inter Japanese Americans during World War II.

In the late 1800s, Congress passed legislation broadly aimed at halting Chinese immigration. But, said Leti Volpp, a University of California expert on immigration law, "there is no precedent for a religious litmus test for admitting immigrants into the United States."

"Excluding almost a quarter of the world's population from setting foot in the United States based solely upon their religious identity would never pass constitutional muster," Volpp said.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) indicated Monday that Congress might not hit the Friday deadline to pass a catch-all government spending bill and renew a package of tax breaks.

"It might take us more than just this week to get these issues put together correctly," Ryan told a radio station in his hometown of Janesville, Wis.

Congress has until this Friday, Dec. 11, to pass a spending bill to avert a government shutdown.

The only person who I've seen pull this off was Jesse Ventura in Minnesota back in the 90's.

A Trump win will cost very powerful people billions. They have absolutely no clue what to do at this point.

Trump hasn't turned out a single vote yet. I expect there are those who will vote for him: but make no mistake, there is only one way to win an election. The hard way. People power. Organizing. And that takes work, time, and money.

Trump is a distraction.

brantt supports Trump and agrees with his positions. he doesnt see him as a distraction, or a bad thing. he sees him as the answer.

Hmm. Regardless, even if Trump had any actual chance of being the nominee - which I suppose is non-zero, but very, very slight - he wouldn't be assassinated. No politician has ever been assassinated in this country for political reasons by an official organized political body, for obvious reasons. Assassinate someone, they turn into a martyr. How good of a president was President Kennedy really? We'll never know, because he is Saint President Kennedy now, to the point that people talk mournfully of the tragedy of "Camelot" being destroyed - a term NEVER applied to the Kennedy White House during his lifetime.

If you are afraid Trump represents some kind of legitimate cause or revolution or idea (laughable, but if you do), the very worst thing you could do would be to assassinate him. Discredit? Yes. Humiliate? By all means. Assassinate? Ask anti-civil-rights Southerners how that works out (not that what happened there wasn't a completely awesome thing long past due).

Agree.

Why do you think we should change the Constitution (the only legal way to enact this) to bar Muslims from coming to the United States? Does this include military personnel who have families and lives here who are currently stationed overseas?

Why do you support a candidate that thinks undocument people bring crime, guns, etc when actual statistics say they do so at lower rates than citizens?

Why do you back a candidate who is the #1 choice of white nationalists (i.e. professional racists)?

Do you agree with Trump's idea that 'wages are too high'?

Do you agree with his fearmongering over Japan and China? Why do you think he chose those two countries?

Do you agree the indiscriminate imprisonment of Japanese-American citizens during World War II is something to be replicated and to learn from in a positive manner?

That civil rights legislation PROBABLY happened sooner than it might have otherwise because it led to LBJ hammering it through on the notion that it was our dear dead president's fondest wish. Would Kennedy have pushed as hard, or as successfully, as LBJ did? Especially without HIS OWN DEATH as a lever to tug at the heartstrings of reluctant voters and congressmen? Hard to see it that way.

Having said that, I am obviously very glad it happened and wish it had done so many eons sooner than it did.

way to sidestep the issue

you are backing a racist and a bigot. there is no denying this. the islamaphobia has permeated every candidate except Lindsey Graham it would seem, but Trump is at the forefront of this.
