Hope Bernie's taking notes on O'Malley's vocabulary re: banks

calling bankers "frauds" won't win you votes Bernie. lots of people work at banks & keep their money in banks. You want to change how they operate, how they're overseen, not deport them

Well, ok, you may want to deport them, but you're no Donald Turnip
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

I just read an Interesting esquire story...basically saying all these Middle East countries sponsor terrorism so that the masses in their own country don't rebel against the incredibly repressive economic systems in place there; basically create a diversion with the west feeling the brunt. The US knows this and permits it to happen. Why? Better to play along and keep the Middle East stable than risk a disruption in oil supply. If you want to cripple terrorist organizations than create sanctions, freeze assets and forcibly bankrupt these regimes....the question is will the west do that knowing the risk of mass instability in the region

We're allies with the Saudis who help to fund Salafis across the globe, including the IS.

The Saudis also helped us destabilize the Soviet Union in the 80's-early 90's by flooding the market with cheap oil. They are doing it again right now. Still, if I could make one nation on the planet disappear, it would be Saudi Arabia. Their regime is pretty evil and I have yet to meet someone from SA that I didn't think was a lazy and rude piece of crap, and I don't think that way very often.

I thought this was pretty common knowledge. Draught definitely destabilized the area.

Get used to it because there will be many other areas destabilized for the same reason. The fact that large companies are going around the globe buying up water supplies and privatizing them will only make matters much worse. Add in the fact that our government and other governments are refusing to help countries that do not allow this privatization as a condition of getting help will make us a target in even more countries. If think being poor pisses people off, wait til they can't afford water to drink.

I listened to a talk that Tim Flannery gave recently at a town hall in Seattle last night. He does a good job of parsing out what the problem is and how we can fix. I'd highly recommend trying to find an interview with him online or checking out his new book. I know this is kind of your jam so maybe you're well aware of his ideas...

LIBERAL vox.com declares Hillary the winner because nobody else won: http://www.vox.com/2015/11/14/9737212/d ... ry-clinton

O'Malley and Sanders made great points as to why Hillary isn't an ideal candidate for some Democrats, especially those who want money out of politics, but they "didn't land"(no explanation on this, great analysis, guys!).

They also defend her terrible answer and clarification on the campaign finance reform question.

On Sanders' Eisenhower comment:

It was good, funny and memorable. But it's not an "oh, I should be taking this guy more seriously than I am" moment, or a sharp contrast to Clinton, who also expressed support for raising taxes on the rich during the debate.

Also, this was apparently a bad response according to the Vox.com political team:

BERNIE SANDERS: I don't know the difference on guns between us. But I believe coming from a state that has virtually no gun control, I believe that I am in position to reach out to the 60% or 70% of the American people who agree with us on those issues. The problem, people all over this country — not you, secretary Clinton — are shouting at each other. And what we need to do is bring people together to work on the agreement where there is broad consensus and that's what I intend to do.

So he points out that he's not that different than Clinton w/r/t gun control. He made a good point that is factual. What's the problem?

Primary voters aren't interested in "consensus" on the issue. They want fewer people to die from gun violence. Moreover, the reference to Clinton shouting about the issue was a weird strategic blunder.

Oh. He was "weird" when he referenced Hillary shouting about it? Got it.

Nothing on MOM calling Hillary's plan on bank reform WEAK TEA. Or about how him and Sanders called Hillary out for being in the pocket of Wall St. Some pretty impressive coverage.

The purpose of Bernie Sanders in the race totally went over some people's heads. He's doing exactly what he should be doing.

yes, he is. it's good to see him make Clinton either renounce past views and actions or help her clarify her position better to the liberal base she is supposed to be going after. she is getting stronger because she has strong competition.
