Syrias as a heart attack: Electronic projects and politics

In Iran, a jailed cartoonist underwent 'virginity' test

Terrible. She was imprisoned by drawing a critical cartoon and then for shaking hands with her male lawyer. So, they stuck shit up her vagina to make sure she wasn't a whore.
In Russia, some art was censored and then taken down because of fears that Orthodox Christians would attack the museum if it showed some naked figures in an art piece.

Meh.

Total Twitter followers:
Bern - 732K

How many of those did Hillary and Bernie have before they announced they were running?

Does that matter? Hillary has a much smaller pool of people to become new followers. I think that most social media trends are irrelevant.

Yet, you're the one who brought it up to make your point.

I was responding to the infographic, so I didn't bring it up.

The House is a problem due to Republicans rigging the system but Democrats need to start chipping away there as well.

Donald "not a Republican" & "not a serious candidate" Trump surging in polls again

Trump holds 38% support in Nevada, with Carson in second with 22%, and in South Carolina, Trump doubles Carson's support, 36% to 18%. No other candidate comes close to those top two in either state; the third-place candidate in each case has less than 10% support.

Trump's backing in both states outpaces his support in most recent national polling, where he tends to draw around a quarter of Republican voters.

Pick the 4 candidates that are actually viable. Could actually win. Then think about what would happen under their tenure?

What are the extreme edges of policy changes or status-quo?

That's really what matters to me. I don't expect any great systemic change in my lifetime. But what are the tangible differentiators in terms of what will actually happen and change in the law or one way or another?

I think we can reasonably imagine what a Hilary or Jeb White House would be like. I'm fuzzier on Sanders and Rand (he has no shot), whom else has a chance? Rubio? Trump would be an unmitigated disaster. More celebrity than policy maker. More overseer than issues expert.

Who will lead the Fed Reserve? What will happen abroad with military? Who will be appointed to the Supreme Court? What legislation will be lead by White House or rejected via veto?

He's still not a Republican, but I may have erred in my diagnosis of him not being a serious candidate. Or perhaps he's an unserious candidate for an unserious electorate.

he's a Republican in the sense that the party realized the demographic shift in the US would mean no more presidential election wins so they opened their doors (wider) to the lunatic white, Alex Jones voter. much like the baby in Alien Resurrection he's the spawn of this disgusting, un-holy union.

Why? He's never actually going to win. It's more of a condemnation of the current slate of GOP politicians--not to mention the almost natural consequence of the near-constant pandering to the social conservatives and fringe groups by the GOP over the past 20 years--than anything else.

If there was an actual GOOD candidate among them (it's sad to me that Marco Rubio seems the most presidential out of the group), and 10-12 of the current no-chance-in-hell candidates dropped out of the race, Trump wouldn't be in the lead. Probably not even close, considering Trump is at around 25% nationally and media coverage drives most of the polling. Imagine if Rubio got the attention that Clinton or Trump got--he'd have an immediate 5-8 point bump without doing anything differently.

That being said, you could easily convince me that Trump is Kang and Clinton is Kodos and it's been a plot decades in the making.

You'd have a valid point if the media narrative was "Bernie way ahead in Democratic Presidential race. Your "pool of people" argument is really poor and not true statistically, but whatever.

Bernie supporters are just too sensitive.
