In the main, they aren't really ideas about copyright. There's no doubt the system is broken, but I don't think anything Lessig proposes would fix it. Honestly, it's been a long time since I read the book, so I cannot really be more specific about it. I just remember thinking it was pretty dumb. I do recall his defense of Napster: Just because people can use the service for violating copyright laws doesn't mean that's what people will do with it. Actually, in fact, that's exactly what people used it for. And hardly anyone used it in the way Lessig described.

figured I'd check in on the Republican polls, seeing as about three weeks ago people started talking in DC about Trump's inevitable decline.

CBS News poll covering 10/4 - 10/8 put him in the lead at 27, Carson at 21, Cruz at 9, Rubio at 8, Fiorina at 6, Bush at 6, Paul at 4, and then the also-rans. Other than an outlier poll from IBD, Trump has been in the lead of every poll for the past two months.

If someone has a second choice other than Trump, it's Carson. Trump is also viewed as the most electable in a general election by Republicans. 81% of Republican voters think Carson is honest and trustworthy. 84% think Trump is a strong leader.

Bush is viewed very unfavorably. He should probably drop out of the race and swing his support to Rubio, but I doubt he does.

This is all as peole increasingly pay more attention, and more people tune in. The new normal is here to stay.

I feel like betting markets are probably a better indicator than polls that are probably flawed. Bush and Rubio still favorites there but the fact that Trump is down to 3 or 4 to 1 belongs in the things that blow your mind thread.

I'd almost prefer Bush to Rubio. Rubio is far too conservative and he might swing the latino/hispanic/spanish vote back towards the GOP, which they've done nothing to deserve.

Where is Trump 3 or 4 to 1 and can you short that?

Not sure it means "favorite"; just that Biden looms large over the Democratic nom without even being in the race. He is the 800-lb gorilla (not) in the room.

He was looming if Hilary's email scandal became a huge deal. Trump and Carson's outrageousness and the gop congress falling apart is kinda overshadowing it
