married guys: does anyone else's wife occasionally take most/all her clothes out of her closets, flop them on your bed, and spend 2-3 hours going through them, trying stuff on, matching stuff up, then hang all the stuff back up/put it away without sending 1 goddamned item, not so much as a scarf, off to goodwill or salvation army or some damned place where someone will actually make use of this stupid item that's had the rain kept off it for 20 fucking years by your home's roof for no godddamned reason at all?

The missus does this about once every 4-5 months, has for many years. I've never asked anyone about it.

Mrs. TP bugs me twice a week to go thru MY closet to get rid of stuff. She's always thinning out our possessions like an obsession. This is mostly a good thing.

If she gets into the project, for damn sure a lot of stuff is going to Vietnam Vets.

I understand the compulsion to go thru stuff. I understand the compulsion to keep shat you will never use again. I DON'T understand why she would go thru all the stuff and then keep it all. Is there suome delusion that she thinks she is about to prune?

just thought of a sad thing i saw on my vacation. I was just sitting on the beach, and some kid's (about 7 years old) sister got sand in his eyes. he started crying, and the mom got all flustered. She goes "You wouldn't act like this if your father was alive". Made me sad
