I do think a lot of the airport experience depends on what terminals and gates you're using. At DFW, a couple of terminals are being rebuilt, and the options in those places are pretty weak (plus getting from one to the other is a pain).

Newark really is the worst of any airport I've been to though.

PPL change in PHL to go overseas, or sometimes to small east coast cities. But nothing like natural hub cities such as CHI and DEN and STL

I have a pretty neutral opinion of Philly's airport. It seems fine but Ed brings up a good point about there being nothing before going past security.

first thing i do when i get to any airport is do everything i can to quick get past security. do people really hang out before that step?

I usually fly out of Baltimore and they have a nice restaurant outside security, fwiw. So, if any of you guys are equidistant between the two airports maybe that can be the game-changer.

yeah, it would be nice to be able to hang out and not head to security when it's a non-moving, one-line shithole. I'd like to be able to go when it slowed down or more lanes opened up rather then walking and waiting in that mess.

Feeling like if I'm running security at any airport I only want any human there if they absolutely must be there, and only for the minimum time necessary to get on/off your plane and/or get/drop someone getting on/off a plane. I want to control the time you're there, subject to my intentionally 'arbitrary' & not always explained delays and changes of venue. Your time there goes according to my plan and neither you nor bad guys can count on what my plan is.

Saw that and thought meh. I guess it's a good enough price, but why buy a 4k TV right now? There's very little content available in 4k today and you can get a comparable 1080p 120hz set for less than half that price.

It's awesome, looks fantastic and no soap opera effect or stupid ass "smart" features. Imo, get the cheaper set now and then in 5 years reevaluate as to where resolution/tech are going and then you can get a 4k or 8k or whatever is hot as your main set and have a bombass 55" to put in a rec room or something

All TVs have that motion blur setting now. Just turn it off and google settings for the TV when you get it. I'm sure someone has optimized/calibrated everything out there.

Now smallish 4K TVs as computer monitors, there's value there. I'm seriously considering a 40" 4K TV for my desk at home.
