The guy was more honest with me than I wanted...basically his staff didn't look at it because they thought it was just a patch job so he didn't get around to ordering the tire until late in the afternoon :evil:

basically I fucking hate my car at this point. The drive in the rental car was so much nicer this morning and every bump and crack in the road didn't make me feel like I was in a wooden rollercoaster.

i go through the same consternation when i have a rental (or drive the wife's car). getting mine back after a month with a rental after my crash last year was depressing. but after a week i didn't even notice it anymore.

Is the downside to the fact that a car can easily last 10 years and go 150k miles that we find ourselves driving old cars that are perfectly fine but have an increasing number of annoying issues for half our lives?
