Keitt stopped at the traffic light at Stenton and Ogontz before continuing through the intersection, police said. Down the street, Ralph said he could not see the scene at Stenton and Ogontz, but heard two gunshots and heard his friend "spin off" again.

After Keitt was shot, police said, he drove about a block to Colonial Street, where he lives, and parked his car. Then he walked toward his own front steps and collapsed.

Officers took Keitt to Einstein Medical Center, where the injured officers were also taken.

They were in stable condition, Stanford said. One had a bleeding arm.

Nutter said of the officers, "They're pretty banged up but in good spirits."

All four were released from the hospital Tuesday night, Stanford said.
