My wife is coming back from a 4 day trip today. My daughter was excellent the whole time she was away so I let her pick out something from target. She picked a Phillies hat

I just watched a five minute story about Kentucky fans. They used the phrase fan base about 20 times. It just got ridiculous.

Just use the word fan (or fans). It's simpler and correct. And that's a good thing.

I know. But I am kinda old. And I'm pretty hip for the most part.

Well, Smitty's point is correct. Fan base is ALWAYS used to denote "Fans". The difference being, at CBP from 2008-2012 we saw the "fans". This year we'll pretty much only see the "fan base".

I had a similar experience recently, but mine ended up with my 4.5 y.o. daughter walking past the Barbie/princess aisles and picking out her first Star Wars figure.

(Plus she already has a Phillies hat and Utley jersey).

I figured I was doing something right.

been readin' this Kid Rock piece over lunch

some highlights:

He's "flabbergasted" by Beyoncé worship. "Beyoncé, to me, doesn't have a fucking 'Purple Rain,' but she's the biggest thing on Earth. How can you be that big without at least one 'Sweet Home Alabama' or 'Old Time Rock & Roll'? People are like, 'Beyoncé's hot. Got a nice fucking ass.' I'm like, 'Cool, I like skinny white chicks with big tits.' Doesn't really fucking do much for me."

Rock could have had a country career after his 2001 hit with Sheryl Crow, "Picture" — he is routinely asked to co-write with Nashville's top songwriters – but he's not interested. "In country, those award shows make your career . . . and I don't suck dick," he says. "I'll tickle your balls a little bit. But I ain't gonna suck your dick."
