I saw him open up for Paul Simon at Hershey oh, I guess it was 10 years ago. The music was great but his song intro talks were super awkward. They had him signing autographs at intermission and I got him to sign a copy of Pet Sounds. A couple of people after me, they closed the line and resumed the show.

This one lady walks up to him and says, "will you sign for me?" He takes her CD, and just stares at it. For about a minute or two.. His handler takes it out of his hands, hands it back, and says, "sorry, mam, not tonight." It was almost as if there was an off switch and he had been deactivated.

The man is obviously not well. I know it's because of all the drugs in the 60's, and probably the abuse he had at the hands of his father. Still, something's not right. Yet they keep pushing him out there for fan interactions and stuff. I wonder if he would rather just play and sing on stage and let someone else take care of the MC'ing for the shows.

I get the sense that performing is therapeutic for him. I saw him about 4 years ago when he toured his new "Lucky Old Sun" album. His band is brilliant, and his new work is superb. His singing is rusty - and he sits perched (awkwardly) at his keyboard. He cannot multi-task - he plays OR sings, never both. And his banter is terrible. But he's been through some very dark times, and I think (I hope) his entourage has his best interest at heart.

Lucky Old Sun is a wonderful album that tells his story beautifully in music. In really good music. It feels like California.

Just in case you missed it, Beez, Love and Mercy was used in the season finale of The Walking Dead. Apparently it's the best tune to use in order to lure zombies back to their tractor trailer home for the night. Make of that what you will.

Great tune, anyway.

To demonstrate the earlier error of his ways, Mr. Phillips said he even snorted Palcohol to prove that it was not an effective or quick way to get drunk, which he said he had not done before he made his earlier claims. The experience was, in a word, unpleasant.

“It would take you an hour of pain to ingest the equivalent of one drink,” Mr. Phillips said in an interview. “It really burns.” Palcohol’s website now says that snorting would be impractical and unpleasant.

While waiting for this chick to come over with Molly , azrider is trying to take pictures of the lunar eclipse. I've been taking pictures with a rather food mirrorless and they keep showing up as a full moon. Wtf?

Maybe bad angle out here in the desert... but don't think this is a total eclipse.

I did have some native American dude walking the green belt who apparently just escaped from rehab wanting to use my phone. He was more preoccupied with who he wanted to reach than the eclipse for some reason.

Molly showed up... what the he'll kind of an eclipse is it when it starts out vertically and ends horizontally? actually the other way around, I'm just a little fucked up. I think I may have been right the first time.
