Wanted to respond to this.

Pal had a bad concussion in tenth grade. Went to the doctor. Doctor said it was probably his 7th or 8th on that season and he just didn't know it. Had a headache everyday for the next six plus years. Still gets really bad ones. Just not everyday.

So yes. It is bad.

Yeah, I don't know why TV would assume it's not as bad in high school. While the athletes are not as big an fast, there are greater disparities in size and physical conditioning of the players, and the the equipment is not nearly as good.

The Government Reform and Oversight Committee isn't really the venue for exploring these issues. People are saying look at the other stuff Issa has overpursued, but the IRS issues and Benghazi are things having to do with the federal government. High school football isn't. The NFL concussion thing could get a look through the concussion settlement, but there are other House committees better suited to hear that as well.

I agree with this too. High school football is a dangerous mess, as has been repeatedly demonstrated lately, but the federal government is not really the best instrument to address these issues.

The document setting out the Committee's jurisdiction is so laughably broad it would be easier to name the 5 things it explicitly doesn't claim to be a venue for.

Get an eyeful of the description of the Subcommittee on Health Care, District of Columbia, Census and the National Archives, just one of the GROC subcommittees that could probably find cover for an NFL investigation in its Smithsonian rummage sale of topics of interest.

You guys are hilarious. I didnt know this site existed until it was linked somewhere else in an article about one of Wendy Davis' supporters twitter breakdowns. Here are the best things about Wendy Davis' campaign, in case you hadnt already known:

1. She accused her opponent of wanting to ban interracial marriage. Her opponent is in an interracial marriage.
2. She aired an ad featuring an empty wheelchair, accusing her disabled opponent of disliking other disabled people.
3. She sent around a photo of proud supporters having just voted for her, and it was revealed that the photo was actually of young GOP voters in another state.
4. She claimed she would indeed support legislation banning abortion after 20 weeks.

That is quite an impressive series of goofs.

Those are pretty bad. But linking a Malkin site should get you beaten with wet noodles or something

I don't know how you change perceptions about the economy. I do think that the long-term phenomenon of wage stagnation for the bottom 80-90 percent of the income distribution is probably a bigger driver of public opinion than the employment numbers.
