I probably drop my phone at an above average level considering my weekend lifestyle. And most of the time on hard floors probably. Phone has never missed a beat. I wiped it off with a disinfectant wipe cause someone used it that I really didn't want using it and now I have scramble screen. I have cleaned it before.

We're currently enduring an ownership transfer (I think; neither firm involved has communicated anything intelligible about it) of our TV/internet/landline service from ATT to something called Frontier Communications. I'm here to tell you the latter firm should be barred from using the word "communications" in its name. This transition has been ludicrously bungled at every stage. As I speak Frontier is phone-bombing me, and presumably its other impacted subscribers with a promised $50 credit "by the end of the year" in an attempt to paper over its incompetence.

I don't know whether my state representative or congressperson will find this farce too humdrum a matter to score constituent points with, but I intend to find out.

I mean, this is two lumbering private enterprises, paragons of free market competitive operational superiority, that are carrying out what should be a completely routine handoff of services - and they have utterly fucked it up. Where is the snark? Where is the ridicule? Where is the goddamn outrage?

I'm assuming ATT is basically bugging out of the nonprofitable parts of the telecom business. Frontier is some kind of zombie enterprise designed to harvest what few shekels are left in servicing legacy telecom tech.

This experience will only hasten our move to pay-per-view TV and landlineless 21st century living.
