Amazon is delaying Hatchette books as payback for negotiations

also holding very little stock, making them have to reorder a lot and further delay things

gonna do a crop share this year. It's $675 for weekly veggies from a local farm from June through October.

We normally spend about 400 on ours though that's a half share.

Soren, I don't know the eating habits of you and fiancee but my gut is you're gonna have a lot of food rotting. Anyway to lessen that?

Unless you REALLY believe in the cause of the local farmer I guess.

we eat a lot of veggies, no snacks in the house and we basically never eat out or do delivery. It works out to about ~$30 a week which is close to what we were spending at the farmer's market plus we're getting more (A full share is an average of 10-15 pounds per week).

jeff, to your point we'll find up freezing some things or making bulk foods that be frozen.

well, if any couple can do it, it's one with an eating profile like that. One last thing to keep in mind is that at the farmer's market, you get to pick the veggies you want. Don't get mad at e when you try to figure out what to do with 3 lbs. of kohlrabi.

 yea we tried making something out of that once...it didn't go so great. We have a pretty good idea of what that farm grows since they were our preferred stand last summer so I'm not worried about getting food I'm not going to want to eat. Their tomatoes are some of the best I've ever had, really looking forward to that.

i hate this time of year when we reup our health care plans at work. this year they added a new wrinkle by changing providers. They no longer have the option of "Parent/child" coverage, it's just "Parent/children" now. So pissed

Speaking of vegetables, I planted tomatoes, kale, zucchini, peppers, onions, cilantro, lettuce and parsley yesterday. Wish me luck. We've had lots of garden fresh vegetables and herb for the last three years.

Definitely kewl.
