I went to Kauai for my honeymoon and a lot of scenes from Jurassic Park were shot there. Took a helicopter ride while we were there and the pilot took us to Manawaiopuna Falls which is where the helicopter carrying everyone lands when they first get to the island. Also flew up the Napali coast, which they also do in the movie, it was really awesome. We did a couple hikes to locations in the movie as well, here is one I remember doing:

Love that movie, it was pretty interesting going to actual locations from the movie and seeing what they looked like "in the wild"

Yes it is, I read it right after the movie came out, it was the summer between 7th and 8th grade and it set me on a tear of Michael Crichton books. Andromeda Strain, Eaters of the Dead, Terminal Man, Congo, Sphere, The Great Train Robbery, Rising Sun. Then I remember Disclosure came out, I reserved it from the library and when they called me to tell me it was in, my mom heard it was to "racy" and wouldn't let me read it.
