For my grandfathers 85 birthday, we got him a photobook and my wife put together a family tree and then we a picture of all of his kids (and spouses and kids) on their own pages, then we did the same for the grown grandchildren and left lots of open space and had everyone write a little message/note/memory on their page in the book. Everyone, including him loved it
