and who is to blame for that?

Not the professor. Reading papers from kids who do the reading and come to class is almost always fine.

I'd like them to come to college with some basic knowledge about the reading and writing the English language. And also, how to edit their own writing and that not every word they right needs to be read by someone else.

kudos to the marketing genius who convinced the world that it's normal to spend two hundred bucks for headphones for kids

you can put dr. dre's name on almost anything and it'll sell, i guess. when my roommate's sister and her friends(all 17-19) stayed at our place for a week to visit/play in a soccer tournament, one of them had them and i asked tried them out b/c i was curious. they were not any better than the Skullcandy ones i have that i got for like $40.

i'm sure there's some sort of pedo joke in there, so have at it, guys.

Drove through the snow to go to Pinsetter's bowling. Called early in the afternoon to make sure they were open and they said no problem. Called on the way a little before 4 and they said they were open until six. Arrive just after four, there's no one in the place except us, and they say they can only put us in for one game, because they're closing at four thirty (asking us if we're the ones that called, so they knew they had already told us six o'clock). So we bowl our one game, return the shoes at about 4:31 and they ask us if we're done. Aren't you closing, we ask? No, now they're staying open until at least 5:30. FFS.

We headed off for a beer.

Those Nabi ones? Yeah what they he'll is that about? They are headphones, for kids. The most I've spent on headphones in my life is about $70, and I love headphones. What is this world coming to.

@sk, I've tried the Dre's and they are alright, but you are paying for the name. If you want to get yourself a good pair of over ear cans, check out klipsch. I have the image ones and they sound great (better than the Dre's, more balanced, but still plenty of bass) and if you shop around, you can get them for $50-$60.

This place has them on sale all the time:

I've bought from them and had no problems. Klipsch also makes some pretty great earbuds too, IMO.

he's supposed to make them as knowledgeable(or even close to) as he is in one semester? did you go to college? because that doesn't happen unless you've got a genius in your class or something. either that or you're intentionally being obtuse.

pretty happy with the ones i got right now. i just wanted to see what $200 headphones would sound like and the answer was not that great. my dad had a pair of those fancy bose ones a few years ago and those were actually really nice. not nice enough to pay $150 or whatever he paid for them, but probably the best quality i've heard out of headphones.

I bought a pair of the Lipsch earbuds about two months ago. Far better than the last pair which cost three times as much...

* A “large number” of gay men are married to women. Google searches suggest wives suspect their husbands of being gay. Like, a lot. Especially in the super Bible states:

In the United States, of all Google searches that begin “Is my husband…,” the most common word to follow is “gay.” “Gay” is 10 percent more common in such searches than the second-place word, “cheating.” It is 8 times more common than “an alcoholic” and 10 times more common than “depressed.” The states with the highest percentage of women asking this question are South Carolina and Louisiana. In fact, in 21 of the 25 states where this question is most frequently asked, support for gay marriage is lower than the national average.

* Among the states with the highest percentages of Craigslist ads for males looking for “casual encounters” are Kentucky, Louisiana and Alabama.

I've noticed a disproportionate # of men in southern states have names like merion, and faye, and beverly
