I'm reading a lot of old threads today. I called out sick.

Keep looking and you'll probably find his guess that Bill Richardson would be the '08 nominee.

Fortunately I don't think I was on any message boards in '97 when I proposed the Phils trade Mike Lieberthal for Steve Trachsel.

Tried to watch an entire segment of Hannity..didn't make it. Arguing about illegal immigrants children shouldn't be allowed to receive taxpayer funded food assistance. The de-humanizing of Mexicans is pretty vile.

U.S. Opens Spigot After Farmers Claim Discrimination - A few days old, but I just got around to reading it

Just completely fucking disgusting.

Racial politics, federal farm funding, bureaucratic incompetence, judicial activism, the plaintiff's bar, Democrat instructions to err on the side of fraud, billions in federal money wasted. It's like something was designed to piss me off in every way imaginable. The ultimate troll.

What a great piece of reporting by the Times. Damn.

Brutal.

Hannity and his ilk sincerely believe he/they personally have anything the fuck all to do with whatever is good in America and they're indignant that anyone else should partake of the good fortune "they" have brought about
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

It's impressive that the farmers didn't have to start a bank or insurance company to raid the Federal till.

It's not Tom Corbett's problem there arent enough jobs in the state. He just stated that most of those unemployed cant pass a drug test anyway.

Irony at its best. Spend a shit ton of money fighting an unwinnable war against drugs, in the process diverting many resources away from investing into infrastructure projects and employment opportunities in the state. In turn, people continue to smoke pot despite the war on drugs and due to pressure from state and federal govt many employers continue to lose out on skilled employees because they smoke weed.

Here's something stupid from the GOP

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/0 ... f=politics

They love the Constitution, but I guess they don't read the part where it mandates a decennial census.

Actually, they would keep that part but eliminate everything else the Census Bureau does. Which is equally stupid.

If you read the defense of the law from the distinguished gentleman from SC, it's pretty clear he would like to somehow conduct the census without actually asking people any questions. "Somehow, someone can figure out a way to do this without you know actually doing any research." seems to be his attitude. The right really has raised wishful thinking to an art form. The things you have to believe to be a Republican today seem to require a denial of the existence of a material universe.

Huckabee is a master at lining his pockets with help from his political supporters. Lots of politicians seem gifted in this area. And then there are stories about the misuse of campaign funds. What's interesting about all this is that the partisan bias seems the reverse of what you'd rationally expect. As a liberal, if say Palin takes a bunch of money from her conservative supporters and uses it to buy Swig Palin a BMW, that's good! It means that there's less conservative money sloshing around that might help elect conservatives.
