got a 'change.org' request to sign a petition about the 'transgender 6 year old'. In case you haven't heard, s/he was born male but identifies as a female. They're all up in arms because the school says she can't use the girl's room- either has to use the boy's room, the staff bathroom for adults, or the bathroom for sick children in the nurse's office. That seems reasonable to me. I think this one is way over the top.

Really? That makes a lot of sense. Because of lot of guilt vs. innocence (and awards in civil trials) has to do with who has the better lawyers. I wish I was able to ask questions of the litigants when I was recently a juror on a civil trial. The answers would likely had made our awardings much more fair.

the jurors gave over a hundred questions... you could tell by the questions they are asking you know they are going to find her guilty. it's like they are calling her out on all her lies.

hell, now knowing i can ask questions... i don't think i'm going to blow off/get out of jury duty next time.

Jury duty seems pretty sweet. Your company has to give you a day off, you're likely not going to be chosen, and they pay you a whole like 7 dollars.

it's the most boring thing you can imagine. it's more boring than voting!

That's the thing. Sit around waiting, name gets called, voir dire, back to the pool if deemed unworthy, repeat.

If being selected for a trial were guaranteed, I'd be quite the opposite. I'm not enthusiastic about voting because, too often your options are akin to chosing between being kicked in the nuts or punched in the nuts. But to be able to hold someone's fate in my hands... bwahahaa!

i was getting called once a year until i accidentally forgot about it one time three years ago, since then i haven't been called back.

The quality of Hanes products has dropped enormously in the last year or two. Very disappointing.

I actually registered to vote last year specifically because I thought I ought to be going to jury duty even if I wasn't going to vote.

I just bought new boxer briefs because my old ones had started to disintegrate after six years or whatever. I can hear strings break whenever I pull them on. And a new undershirt I just bought had a hole in one of the seams right out of the bag.

i so agree!!!! somebody swiped my dickies hoodie and i picked up a hanes one and the thing could not hold its shape after the first wash. the tanks and t's are also like see through. it is kinda cool when i have a gf that decides to wear one though.

only time i got called i wasnt selected after being in two juror pools. crazy conservative friend on facebook just had jury duty two weeks ago. she just got a summons for federal court today. ha.

my mom's on a federal jury right now. my buddy was on a grand jury while he was a reporter at the Allentown Morning Call and came across a lady he could use as a source in the future. but he pursued an interview while he was still on the jury so he got booted off it

I know at least one person who met his wife on jury duty.
