Don't make me repeat my RANDOM THOUGHTS

I think if this was in any of my other political science classes with a different professor I'd be okay. I'm guessing someone in TV's class would not be okay.

I'll keep you guys updated, this guy is kind of a dick so it'll be interesting at least.

I don't know what it's like at your school, TNC, but we have to have final grades submitted within 48 hours of the final being taken, which is a very tight window (unless it's scantron or if the classes you have are very small). It's the toughest time for a professor to be accommodating and make more work for themselves because you're already under time constraints. But your email sounded good so maybe you'll get the benefit of the doubt.

I've got this student who's been mostly coming to class, but hasn't handed in any work, and her excuse is "my roommate's boyfriend stole my book." And? File a police report? Buy another copy of the book? Borrow one from a friend? See if you can find other editions of the reading in the library? No? Why is this my problem?

Someone stole their book and you're pissed at them. Congrats on fulfilling the dickhead prof stereotype?

They haven't handed in any work over the course of the semester and their excuse is as dumb as 'my roommate's boyfriend stole my book' and you're siding with the student?

As long as you're drinking it while on a treadmill set at 8mph, I don't think that's excessive.

Professor,

This is, I just wanted to let you know that I mistakenly only answered five questions on the first part of the final exam. I read the directions, but at some point in the exam I began thinking the first part needed only five questions and only realized my mistake after I got back to my house. I completely take responsibility for my mistake, I just wanted to ask you if there is anything that can be done at this point. If not, I understand.

Thanks for your time,

Already sent this. I was one of maybe 3 or 4 students with a flat A in the class going into the final, and now this could drop me as low as a C or D probably. My gpa is going to get fucked so hard.

Nice effort. For future reference in the unlikely event you're in this situation again, I'd drop the "if not I understand". Letting the recipient fill that in, after what you've already written, is ok - and keeps them guessing about whether you're a psycho who'll get all up in their bidness if they don't provide you a mulligan.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Too lazy to find the commercials thread, but Let's talk about reverse mortgages....so this is little old ladies selling their houses back to the bank because social security isn't covering their pills? that commercial makes me so sad. And Pat Boone you should be ashamed of yourself.

Maybe they hate their kids who never visit or call or anything, and they'll be damned if those ungrateful little brats get even a bit of the equity stored in that hose. Gas up the RV, Martha, we're hitting the road!

But they didn't even really ask for help. She just said, "I can't do these assignments". And that's it. This was not done during office hours, but after class. The problem I have with Nightman's e-mail and its similarity to this is basically he fucked up, and now he wants the professor to solve his problem. What is Nightman proposing? Just not count the parts that weren't completed? Extra time to complete the test? At least propose something. "Could I come in and make up the test?"

How am I a dick, Pacino? Do you know anything about how I run my classes, or how much I work to help students out? I do ask that you at least meet me fucking halfway. Show me you at least give a shit about the class, instead of sitting their like a lump of barely animate protoplasm for the entire semester.
