What is there to say? 90% of the crap you hear about turnout and all that is meaningless. We'll find out who wins soon enough.
It didn't stop you from bombarding the politics threads for months with countless amounts of poll data and Romney lies.

can you quantify that quantity b/c this is the 1st time I've ever heard anyone ever even imagine that anyone ever would even imagine uttering this phrase with reference to any religious garment of any kind at any level of public office

Then you'll love the 20 minute version that was posted a few months ago!

I think you're making a (somewhat oblique) point about the hypocrisy of left-wing bigots (e.g. you're not saying that there are more people who'd Mormon-bash than Jew- or Arab-bash, just that those who would never slur those non-Christian faiths are happy to show some ugliness toward LDS adherents).
Maybe true, though I haven't ever heard it.</paulinekael> But the larger and probably obvious point is that even if it doesn't happen today (well, on Jan. 20), I think it's a really, really good bet that we'll have a Mormon president before we have a president of any faith that doesn't posit the divinity of Christ.
That conspicuous (even if insincere) profession of religious faith is considered pretty much necessary for a serious presidential bid doesn't thrill me, but here we are. Am I misremembering that Goldwater (half-Jewish!) was pretty much a non-believer?
