I think Swift is a major songwriting talent. She will have to broaden her palette and get beyond "this guy I dated turned out to be a jerk" but songs like Mean are simply excellent. I'll take your word for it on the songwriting. The ones that I've heard are hopelessly banal to me, though I'll grant that part of my problem is that I just can't relate to the tribulations of teenage girls at this point in my life (check back with me in 10 years, however...).

As a singer, Swift is pretty weak. Unless I'm imagining things, the autotune fad is finally fading, which is bad news for Swift. Being a not-very-good singer isn't hard to overcome in some genres (e.g. rock), but I think that a country singer, female especially, would have a tougher row to hoe.

for some reason exeter's 'rival' was daniel boone. i never understood that since i interacted wayyy more with antietam kids.
