This woman I was training in the Tampa site was telling me about her son, he works as a flo rider. Apparently it is a job, as a flo rider, you teach people to surf in some indoor surf tank. In her words "he thinks its great, he makes $8/hr and gets to look at girls boobies all day"

So, he's a flo rider in flo rida. I looked up the minimum wage to see if it was over 8 bucks in Florida because part of told me she was lying. Story checks out.

I really think at her best Taylor Swift is as good as anyone out there. And, she sang the national anthem before one of the playoff games in 2008.

Last week my girlfriend's cousin was killed in an accident. Sometime after the funeral on Tuesday, her father died. She and her son live with another girl and her son. Makes it easy for them to watch each others kids since they have different work schedules, etc.

Anyway, the roommate is certifiable batshit crazy. Has been ever since they started living together. I've never seen anything like this girl before. Anyway, yesterday morning, my girlfriend heads home (about an hour from Brigantine) to plan the funeral, which is tomorrow. Last night the roommate calls her and starts giving her shit because she won't be back until Friday night at the earliest and she has no one to watch her son. Even though the roommate's mom already said she would watch him.

I don't even think it has anything to do with that actually. She usually stays at my place one or two nights a week when she doesn't have to watch the roommates son. Even then, the roommate flips the fuck out. I'm pretty sure she's going to go Single White Female on us. If I disappear, assume that I've been poisoned.

I think Swift is a major songwriting talent. She will have to broaden her palette and get beyond "this guy I dated turned out to be a jerk" but songs like Mean are simply excellent. I think she has a lot more in common with Alanis Morrisette (who I like a lot) and maybe even Tori Amos than say Miley Cyrus or Rihanna. Of her pop contemporaries, I'd say only Adele is in her league, though Adele has a more interesting voice. However, from what I've heard off Red (remember, Lil' Vulture is an 11 year old girl, so I hear a lot more of this music than I'd like) it's not as good as Speak Now. So maybe she won't realize her potential.

She's in a weird place--straddling the line between pop star, country star, and singer-songwriter. I don't know if it's possible to balance all that.
