This. The gulf between who he was in February and who he's trying to be in october is potentially devastating.

That said, I agree with Paul that Romney isn't horrible. He's a smart guy, capable of thinking on his feet and obviously not feeling obligated to any standard of consistency.

But Obama is probably having the best debate I've ever seen him have. At the very, very least I'm sure he's bucked up the Democrats, and I'm guessing he's won back some independents and undecided.

by standard of consistency, do you mean some kind of baseline of political ideals?? he appears to be the most purely sleazy politician whose run for prez in a long time

You know, if one of these guys would just directly answer the questions asked, that would be a novelty that might get one of them elected, even if the answer they give is something like "It was my fault and I'm sorry."

they fucked up in libya. it's not a goddamn administration killer. just admit it, move on, whatever. mitt trying to make crazy political hay out of it is just pathetic, tbh.

And Romney isn't doing a good job with it at all. Like he wasn't prepared for it.

Right. But apparently didnt have to do with funding. Honestly it seems to me that it's just something Obama never saw. The request for more security. Someone denied it along the ladder and that's it.

mitt was way too quick to judge, and the prez was too slow to judge. i'd prefer slow in something like this. gather the facts first.

You know how the three most important things in real estate are location, location, location.

Well, you might say the same is true in politics: location in time. So, timing, timing, timing. No one gives a shit if this Libya thing happens in September of 2011. Too bad for Obama it was September 2012.
