Fwiw, this may make you more vulnerable to fraud or by the letter of the law have an unacceptable credit card. If you have an unsigned credit card and you lose it, whoever finds it could sign it and use it. Alternatively, writing "see id" in the signature line technically makes your card invalid as it is not signed and merchants, per visa and MasterCard, are not supposed to accept unsigned cards.

All that being said, I wrote "see id" on my credit card instead of signing it and only had one place not accept it, the post office.

At the same time, one could argue that "see ID" is their signature. Or you could sign next to "see ID" (which I did at the post office when they were dicks and wouldn't take my card).
