totally agree with TD11 though, why hair test for entry level gigs? Seems like a good way to run up your expenses on failed tests. For one, it's more expensive than a piss test, and on top of that, you're setting yourself up for failure if you're expecting people in their 20's not to party

You might as well ask why test for drugs at all. If you think about it, a pee test will only work if it's frequent and random. I mean (marijuana excepted) if you can't pass a pee test that you know about in advance, you should probably be in rehab.

yep.

hair test is about $300-400 depending on how far back they go. drug metabolites can stay in your hair for 3 years.

pee test is about $25-$50, maybe even cheaper if they do the instant cup one instead of sending sample to a lab.

drug testing is retarded. basically just a way for companies to sidestep liability if someone gets hurt on the job.

it also sucks that THC metabolites linger longer than any other drug metabolites

I'm guessing letting people know ahead of time helps thin out the pool proactively, too.

it's a half hour drive, there is plenty of stuff to do around there. lots of hotels too
