Random Thoughts With Extra Cheese and Pepperoni

I thought about starting a thread about foods that taste better as leftovers. But really, there's chili. Cold chicken is pretty good. After that, I've got nothing.

Lots of soups and stews are better the next day. Gazpacho. Tzatziki sauce.

I wasn't even trying to get a discount or anything.. just really wanted that grill. The store in Conshy sold the floor model of the exact same grill to my brother a couple of weeks ago. So now I ordered it online for the same price but it comes with steel grates instead of cast iron grates. And I have to wait three to five business days for shipping and then put it together myself. Oh well.

Did you try Lowes or Sears or a local hardware or appliance store?

Yeah, did look at a few different places after deciding on a model (Weber Spirit 210). I chose Home Depot because they were supposed to have had an exclusive deal to include the cast iron grates, which would normally be a $60 upgrade. To be honest I'm not even sure of the advantage of the cast iron... so I probably won't know the difference anyway.

That site is just loaded with bad information, plus grammatical and spelling errors.

* they utilize convection, conduction, and radiant heat, not just radiant heat. This is true of a normal grill as well, though I expect that this system, having more surface area than normal grill grates, would radiate more heat.
* there is no such phenomenon as "searing in the juices"
* oils and fats released during cooking do not "aid in the natural smoking process" - in normal grilling, very little smoking occurs at all, and if these fats are burning, the smoke is something you do NOT want. Smoking meats and other foods is done with various kinds of wood; animal fats produce carcinogens when burned.
* "flare-ups", not "flair ups"

Plus, it's called ManGrate.

That said, I think it would work well, though you would have to preheat your grill longer than you would with normal grates.
