I’ve been interested in this matter ever since I first noticed that Obama was a communist.

Could 2012 be America's Last Presidential Election?

By Michael Savage

I've asked this question to a number of people and most of them respond as if I were crazy. They tell me that this is America, land of the free, and that there will always be elections. I tell them that we are no longer the land of the free and that if Obama gets
Re-elected in 2012 that this just may be America's last election.

In the past three years, the Obama administration has been very carefully crafting the nation for a political take over by his Marxist regime and this isn't just my opinion.

Popular radio talk show host (of the Savage Nation on the Talk Radio Network), Michael Savage, is the son of Russian immigrants and is very familiar with Soviet and European history. Savage warned his listeners this week saying, "I have to tell you that if this man, God forbid, is the next president of the United States, we're going to be living in something along the lines of - people say - Europe. I don't believe it's going to be like Europe - I think it will be closer to Chavez's South American dictatorship.

"This is the most corrupt, incompetent, dangerous tyrannical administration in American history. It's not politics as usual. It's not just Democrats versus Republicans. Obama has a long history of being at odds with American values and with America itself and the core principles of this country. They don't want government-sponsored opinions. They only want government-sponsored 'Pravda.' That's exactly what the government-media complex tells you on a daily basis - nothing but the government-media complex party line. Pay attention! Your freedom may be at stake!

Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told a small group of people in an Iowa coffee house that "Barack Obama is not incompetent, ladies and gentleman. He knows exactly what he's doing and why he's doing it. He sees America differently than you see America."

[Obama] has gone out of his way to divide this country in a way I haven't seen since the Great Depression when Franklin Roosevelt went around to divide his country. That's his hero. What makes America great [in Obama's mind] is that the government takes money from somebody and gives it to somebody else. No, that's what makes America, France.

"With his control over the Executive and Judicial branches of the government, the stage is set for a complete takeover of the government. Think about it! Since taking office, instead of helping the economy, Obama has purposely escalated the economic crisis by plunging the country into unprecedented debt. He has a number of programs that are designed to go into effect in January 2013, just in time for his second term of office. The economic burden and increased taxes on everyone will be enough to cause the final economic collapse of the country. As soon as that happens, Obama declares Martial Law and assumes dictatorial control of the nation.

The Department of Justice has already been subverting federal laws to strip us of a number of freedoms. The Supreme Court and many of the other federal courts have been seeded with socialistic liberal judges that will rule in Obama's favor on virtually anything, thus ending constitutional rule and law.

He's already changing the face of America's military. Allowing homosexuals to openly serve along with changing the retirement program is causing many conservative military leaders to resign commissions and leave the military. Some Pentagon officials are also noting that an increase in the enlistment of radical Muslims into the US military where they get all the training they need on weapons and defense systems. We have no idea how many of them there are in the armed forces or in what positions they may hold.

Obama has been wielding executive powers this past year as if he were already a dictator. When Congress is not doing his bidding, he simply bypasses them and uses an executive order to accomplish it anyway. This has set the stage for his disbandment of Congress. He would not be the first world leader to take control of a nation and disband the legislative branch of government.

He has been effectively using the media to anesthetize the public to the dangers he poses. Like a patient being prepped for surgery, people are numb to the changes and won't have a clue what took place until they wake up in recovery and realize that free America has been removed and replaced with a regime that may parallel those of Stalin, Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler, Chavez and Castro.

For the sake of our children and grandchildren, I earnestly pray that we are spared from what seems a certain future and that Obama is overwhelmingly defeated in 2012. Otherwise, heaven help us.

To be fair, many people believed Bush was going to stage another terrorist attack so he could cancel the 2008 election. The funny thing about that was it seemed to me that by the end, as far as Bush was concerned, his Presidency couldn't end soon enough.

Also, there's the matter of those tax returns. It now appears that he didn't pay ANY taxes for 10 years, according to some of his Bain buddies. Pass the word, Mitt doesn't pay taxes even when he makes millions. He and his friends at Bain hide their money and force the middle class to help them make more money. Welfare for the rich is fine in Mitt's book.

I guess you'll have to prove it to me, jh. That's how it works in election politics, right? Gloves off and all that. Just show the returns and the questions will stop..... promise (wink-wink).

Really, if he had nothing to hide, they would have been out months ago. There's stuff there that he knows will be damaging... even more damaging than dealing with all the scrutiny and questions.

On the other hand, if he does release them, the questions won't really stop, so why bother giving the opponent anything.

On one level it's upsetting. But on another it's pretty damn funny: is the administration incompetent or tyrannical? Is it particularly sinister to admire FDR, who's generally considered one of the three or four best presidents we've ever had? Is Obama too unilateral or too deferential with respect to Congress?

The part that rings most false to me is the "most people I ask think I'm crazy" line, only because I don't believe any of those people venture outside the echo chamber.

As you probably know, there's an Obama-as-dictator critique from the left too, most prominently and consistently made by Glenn Greenwald. He thinks Obama has too eagerly embraced the Bush/Cheney security state, and has gone even farther in persecuting whistle-blowers and designating state secrets. I'd probably pay money to see Greenwald and "Savage" (whose real name, I believe, is Wiener) have a conversation about this.

I think Romney is betting that if he ignores the issue, it'll go away because the press and public simply isn't capable of sustaining its attention for more than a couple weeks. I hope he's wrong, but I suspect he's right.

We know it's not true because we are humans blessed with the capacity to think and use common sense.*

Why would a random, unnamed Bain investor be privy to Romney's personal tax returns? How, exactly, would Romney go a decade without paying taxes? On what evidence is Reid asserting Romney has more money than he has declared on his disclosure forms?

If the Senate Majority Leader is comfortable making an ass out of himself floating implausible rumors to keep the story alive and the media doesn't kill him for it, then he should keep it up because dajafi is right that it's a win/win for the Obama campaign. It'd be nice if the media called him out for being an irresponsible piece of shit though.

*With the possible exception of Monkeyboy

No need for the personal attacks, jh. It was you who said "if you ain't lying, you ain't trying," was it not? There is no morality in politics, right? Mitt and the right has had no problem lying over and over again, and you have said that you don't have a problem with lying in politics, so why get in my face for repeating what was said by Reid? My guess is because you know this stuff is damaging to your guy. You don't want the public discourse to be about Mitt's returns, you want it to be about the unemployment rate.

At any rate, when I say he didn't pay his taxes, I am, of course, saying that he probably didn't pay any taxes some years. I am not saying that he didn't file his taxes. With so much of his money (probably legally) hidden in tax-free foreign accounts, it's quite possible he didn't pay out any taxes some years.

As an American, I just want to make sure he's not a felon or a Mormon plant designed to take over the country and turn the US of A into an evil mormon empire. I've heard that big mormon donors have been dumping enormous money into his campaign (true, btw) and some of them have very strange ideas about God and the Bible. I just want to protect my little girl and the country we all love from people who want to subvert this country for their own twisted ideas. The fact that you're against me makes me think, and I'm sorry I have to say this, that you may be in league with the evil mormon empire. So just release the returns and we can all move on..... promise (wink-wink)

Ugh. I hate everyone too. Savage may not believe in the integrity of Obama but please ... There are so many people in power, with some sort of integrity, that would never let that happen, starting with the Joint-Chiefs and UCC. Especially Obama, who's had his share of battles with the Pentagon.

Beyond any direct political hay to be made, obama's people probably also think that romney's returns can also potentially really help them with pushing their tax reforms.

It's one thing to just say "the rich don't pay their fair share." it's another to show the returns of a guy that (1) everyone knows (2) everyone knows has a lot of money. If Romney actually has some serious skeletons (or just enough for the other side to stir up something) then democrats can use his returns as the go to example for the top 1% in general.

Which is just another reason why there's no way Romney is disclosing anything else.

It was more upsetting than funny to me (though still funny) because I got the e-mail from a much older relative of mine, and it occurred to me that these fringe scare tactic people on either side of the coin do this shit to scare A) the uninformed and gullible B) the very old. It also concerns me because doesn't Michael Savage have a radio show or something? It's not like he's one of those wacky blogger-only types.

As an aside, I'm getting sick of ridiculous politics in general. I've had seemingly sane and much younger members of my family say things like "I hope gas is like $10 a gallon come Novemeber so we can get Obama out of there." I know the country has always been divided, but I just don't know when it became Red Sox/Yankees level hatred where you want the fucking country to fall apart so just someone from your team wins the championship. It's sick.

People have already pointed out the hilarious inconsistencies of this thing, but this one's my favorite

He's already changing the face of America's military. Some Pentagon officials are also noting that an increase in the enlistment of radical Muslims into the US military where they get all the training they need on weapons and defense systems. Soooo... we know we have an increase in radical Muslims... but we don't have the slightest clue how many there are or where they serve?

Awesome. I want to try this logic sometime. "Yes boss, I have an increase in my work product. I just don't know where it is." "Ryan Howard is having a career year in home runs--only no one knows where they are."
