I guess since the legislation always dies people have given up on the idea for the time being. Canada just got rid of theirs, but they're Socialist anyway. People just like the little guys, I guess, and feel they'll get ripped off by rounding (yes, I know this makes no sense).

Snopes makes the good point though that while a one cent coin costs more than a penny to make it can be used over and over again, so it's really not that big a deal. Made me realize I should cash my stash in at the bank though in order to get the US of A back on sound financial footing.

There was also recent legislation to replace small bills with coins, roiling the paper and metal lobbies. I heard a pretty good "Planet Money" piece on it

Idk 6.50 for a decent -sized sandwich and soda filled me up. It wasn't very tasty tho. Don't see why you need more than the small there.

WHAT'S THIS? Haven't people learned yet? Why, they couldn't even have a dozen or so closely-bunched countries using a common currency without the economy virtually collapsing, and now they want EVERYONE ON EARTH to use the same currency? That's ludicrous. Why, the size of the thing along would be HUGE, to account for all of the different languages you'd need so everyone world-wide would know what piece is worth what. AND, you'd likely trigger WORLD WAR THREE with the debates on whose pictures get to go on them.

NO THANK YOU.

For my electricity provider, should I do variable rate or fixed rate? My contract is up with them, and I see pluses and minuses to both rates.
Piss off.

I think the "ein pfenning stuck" was the best coin ever. Worth about 1/10th of a penny or something.

Got 14 days to take off for the rest of the year? 1 of those days is dedicated to Six Flags. 2 for Boston.

So 11 days. Gotta do something good, men (and two women... and perhaps the thousands reading but too timid to post).

New Orleans, Austin, or Miami? Never been to any of them.

I've only ever been to new Orleans out of that bunch, but I highly reccomend it, if you like to drink that is. Plus there is a lot of cool historical stuff, the d-day museum, the garden district lots of cool architecture. Plus lots of good restaurants and drinking and drinking and drinking. It's an awesome town.

You can carry an open container on the streets there. Only rule is no glass, but most of the bars have plastic cups by the door so if you wanna leave the bar pour your drink in the cup and walk out, and most bars will let you bring a cup in from a other bar. Also there was a dude who had a store front te size of a closet called huge ass beers. He sold 32 oz draft bud and bud light for like $2 in a plastic cup.
