my dads had over 20 strokes, but never the big one. i know its coming but i don't really care to think about it much.

he's been pretty luck with regaining all of his body control. he walks kind of funny and can be loopy at times but for all that he's been through i can live with it.

my dads a complete wreck. i don't know how he manages as well as he does. holds down a full time job(he's retired already) and then takes care of his step grand daughter like 3 days a week.

his list of problem is incredible

incurable blood disease that enlarges the spleen. spleen can't be removed because the blood disease would kill him. when he was diagnosed with it the doctors said he should be dead within 3 years. that was like 7 years ago.

has diabetes about as a person can have it. its causing him to go blind. so he gets shots into his eyes pretty often. pretty sure this is causing the stokes, too.

his blood pressure is off the charts non stop.

he's had over 20 strokes.

has had bells palsy. lost entire function of one side of his body. looked like a god damn zombie for a while there.

he had an awful case of vertigo not too long ago that. he was driving when it happened. managed to get back to his shop and then stepped out of the truck and just vomited non stop for a while. was taken to the hospital where he couldn't stand up for a couple of days. thankfully that hasn't come back again.

who knows what else. he keeps on ticking though. best dude.

my grandmother's last brother (in-law) died this past week and neither my mom nor her siblings are going to tell her about it because her alzheimer's has advanced to the point that it would just cause more confusion than it's worth. she still thinks her husband is alive (he died in 1999) and has a girlfriend/wife and a child with this fictional person. she did at least recognize her great-grandson, my cousin Kirstie's son Granger, was half-black, which was kind of funny and cool

more encouraging: my other grandmother had a stroke when i was a baby and lived on for years. she was great to hang out with. she was in a wheelchair for a while but she was healthy for years. stay positive, you guys.
