the plentiful off days are a nice perk, but it's mostly just a consolation for paying us so little

There are several different accents common in Louisiana. Some people from New Orleans sound a lot like people from New Jersey.

All I can say about both White and Black bike week is, be prepared for the constant noise of motorcycle engines at night. And, as I said, stay out of their way- both groups like to be intimidating, and many gangs show up.

Michelle and I were there back in 2007. We had no idea that was going on. We were there for half of "white" bike week, and half of "black" bike week. Honestly, both were pretty damn scary- especially if you just want some peace and quiet.

It's not so bad during the day- they're not around as much. What we ended up doing was going to Broadway on the Beach or Barefoot Landing after 4:00.

Still, trying to walk across the street while 400 guys who all look like either Hacksaw Jim Duggan or Zeus wanting an excuse to hit you with their large motor machines isn't fun.

I have 90 days of leave as of the 1st. I have to be at 75 days by October 1st. I get 2.5 a month, so that's 27.5 days to use, otherwise I lose all above 75. Looks like I'll be taking every weekend off for the next 5 months.

I don't want to be all morbid and sad, but my grandmother had two strokes over the weekend. I visited her in the hospital tonight with my dad and brother. It was sad. She didn't say anything at all and could barely nod her head. Heck she didn't move much until we left. I waved as I was walking out the door and she lifted her hand up to wave too. That was pretty sad. I am not even super close with her. She has had dementia for a few years and has been hard to relate with.

Death in general is just a hard thing to deal with.

How about Chipotle?
