yeah. it's a terrible situation. i don't disagree with you, but gun control is a topic i'd rather not delve into b/c i've never had a interest in firing a gun let alone own one and so my opinion feels misplaced.

i'm told my neighbor owns several guns that he has insane security measures on, and before yesterday i'm sure he considered himself to be one of those responsible gun owners. i've also sure he'd trade all of them for one more day with his son to talk him out of what he was going to do.

Bought the bike. It's in great shape. Now to decide whether to ride home on the Schuylkill River Trail or wait until after 6:30 (which is when SEPTA allows riders to bring bikes on Regional Rail) to take the train home. According to Google maps the bike ride would be 13.7 miles. I better be able to handle that.

Make sure you don't take the trail past Manayunk- take Umbria St., to Nixon St., <almost> to River Road and get back on the trail at Port Royal Ave. I think the trail may be closed at Shawmont anyway, but through there it's like a mountain bike trail. And not very well demarcated, so it's probably easy to wander off trail, especially westbound. The only tough part will be Umbria between Parker an Domino, where there's a decent (but short) climb.

Thanks, Bucky! I do remember things getting funky along the trail, but the last time I rode it in that direction was waaaaay back in high school. This is definitely not a mountain bike so I very much appreciate the detailed directions.
