oh wow. very intrigued, thanks for posting about it. i've been doing the slingbox thing for years from my parents house, even was able to move to the slingcatcher back in '09 as my sole provider of cable.

i'm really gonna look into this, although it's a bummer you'd actually have to pay for something :wink:

yeah, looks like you'd pretty much be paying for a cable subscription from any local area you prefer, plus an add-on charge for the nimbletv service. I can see the broadcast industry getting up in arms about this.

Cable companies aren't going to like it either, as now they'll have to compete with each other. One of them may figure out how not to provide such shitty service. Of course, aren't you still on the hook with either the cable company or the phone company for your broadband?

I would pay a lot of money to get cable from Philadelphia instead of Savannah. I used to be able to watch three Simpsons episodes a day if I wanted to, and now all I get are the new ones on Sundays, which I don't even really want to see.

Ever see those short interviews in some shitty magazine where they ask the attractive female celebrity what kinda guy she looks for, and she says something like "a guy who can make me laugh and can be comfortable in any situation?" For about .6 seconds, I get excited that I fit the bill.
