has anyone ever replaced the battery on their laptop with an aftermarket battery? my battery is pretty much shot and my laptop shuts off when I unplug it. not too interested in paying 150 bucks on dell.com to replace it, but I've found brand new aftermarket replacement ones on ebay for about 30 bucks.

I've done this with my Mac, works fine. Lower quality battery, but worth it for the price

I've done this with my Mac, works fine. Lower quality battery, but worth it for the price

as in it didn't hold a charge as long? either way, for 30 bucks, i can justify it.

I went to North Hunterdon, my brothers went to Voorhees. I played you guys in Tennis a bunch of times. At the time i enjoyed your HS radio station.

Ha that's funny, I had some friends that went to North dated a girl that went there as well. What year did you graduate? I was class of 98 at central, I did a lot of work at the radio station as well, had a few shows, even got my name on a gold record.

I purchased one as a dell replacement and it was great. They often come from the same factory. The eBay one's make me nervous - I purchased mine from LaptopBatteryExpress.com for $95 after googling for some reviews. Since the laptop was less than 2 years old, my credit card paid for the battery (they actually paid for a dell replacement value - I pocketed the difference).
