Attention Members of the Rutgers Community:
The Rutgers University Police Department is currently investigating two
reports of plastic water bottles which were placed within trash
receptacles on the Cook Campus near Voorhees Resident Hall and then
shortly thereafter exploded. These incidents both occurred on November
30, 2011. The first was reported at 12:30am and the second at 1:14pm.
In at least one of these incidents two individuals were seen running
from the location immediately prior to the explosion. These bottles were
contained to the trash receptacles themselves and no property has been
damaged. In addition, no one has been reported to have been injured by
any of these devices. New Jersey Law classifies this action as a
serious crime.
