I like the fact that the android tabs have Hdmi out and the ones I'm looking at, acer iconia or asus transformer, have USB ports for flash drives or external hard drives, and are 16x10 aspect ratio. The lack of apps for the android ones really concern me though and I have an iPhone already so I've got apps aplenty ready to put on an iPad.
Or should I just say eff it and get a mid range laptop? I don't know what to do.
The lack of apps for Honeycomb is a little overblown IMO. I have the G-Slate (LG 8.9" Honeycomb), and although there are only a few hundred technically "optimized for tablet" apps, most Android 2.2 apps work just fine. Sure, there's some slight distortion in some, but I've never found an app in the Android Market that isn't better on my tablet than on my phone.
Oh, and be sure the HDMI-out is full mirroring, and not limited content. HDMI mirroring will change your life. As long as you go with one of the dual-core tablets, so there's no lag, buffering, or other nonsense. Today I downloaded Social Network in 1080p for free, watched it in a waiting room for a while, paused it, then hooked it up back home via HDMI on my 42". Can't do that with an iPad. Oh, and I'm now playing Angry Birds @ 1080p and 42". My cats are going nutso.

Wait, so you rode a bike to a strip club? If so, that is impressive.
