played 2 games of softball on sunday and 2 games of softball on monday. only made 3 outs the entire "trip." had 3 triples, a homerun, 3 doubles, and several singles. one out was a rocket to the SS that almost took his head off. another out was a guy crashign into the fence of what would have been another triple. my third out was a line drive that the LF had to make a great play on.

shooting for a .900 average between both leagues.

if it almost took the shortstop's head off i'm gonna have to go with an 'e' on that one

the team we were facing had illegal bats. a bunch of them were shaved. the end cap popped off on one of their hits and the ump didn't even care. i told the ump that if i got hit with a ball off an illegal bat there won't be county league softball anymore.

OK, two rants here:

Rant the first: People, clear out your voice mail, please. I'm trying to reach my other carpool mom, and her voicemail is full. I texted her, but I know she doesn't text. This is kind of important (see below), as in, I can't bring your kid home from school, so.... [This is mitigated by the fact that she works at our kids' school, so if I'm picking up VoxJr early, she will find out. But people, this is why we have cell phones].

Rant the second. Delaware County, what is up with the 20-million hospitals? Vox's brother hurt his back and went to the ER, and there are six hospitals in a five mile radius. OK, one is CHOP, so there's five I have to call to see if where he is. I'm hoping he remembers to call me again before they dope him up. [Edit, there are seven in a five mile radius, one didn't get a letter on my Google map, because the Philly hospitals ranked higher in the search results.]

People that try to illegally soup up their already ridiculously high performing softball bats are the worst sort of people. Worse than child murderers and rapists.

and that reminds me, we played a team on Sunday that had a girl pitching. On at least three occasions a line drive was hit back towards her and I winced for fear that she was about to die. And then she had like 5 straight hits right between third and shortstop and I didn't feel sorry for her anymore

Not to go all PtK, but Hot Pockets are most useful for starting fires in wet conditions, not as food. They are impressively flammable.

i called the OF in on a girl yesterday. she bombed it over their heads. last year this girl walked like 3 times in a row on me and never once hit a ball out of the infield. i want to punch her in the face.

Trust me, I am well aware of their flammability after this morning.

this is my first year i'm going to wear a facemask while pitching. i haven't been hit yet(several close calls). but its going to happen sooner or later since everyone and their mom shaves and end loads their bat.


i'm a schmuck who bought a $300 bat. but at least its still legal.
