Girl you're hitting on: So where do you live?
Barry Jive: I live with my parents.
Girl you're hitting on: Oh...uh...I'm...Oh! You know what? I forgot, I totally do have a boyfriend. It was nice talking with you though.

So, with class sizes of six, my brother can finally work on verbal communication with specialists and be in an environment of his peers.

I will play devil's advocate here.

If you DO decide to move back in, DON'T do it without a plan. Specifically I would say saving to buy a house. Else, if you just spend the additional $, down the road you'll find yourself in exactly in the same boat you're in now. So make some sort of automatic commitment (like split your direct deposit into a separate savings account) so down the road you'll have the means to make a break again.

If you can't do that, then just stay where you are for all the other reasons noted above....

Yes, that is awesome news Pratty. What school? The right people can make all the difference. I've heard many first-hand stories of kids on the spectrum whom break through the verbal barrier when introduced to the proper environment and therapies....

Barry, do what bucky says. If you're gonna do it, kill yourself to save as much money as possible to GTFO out of there as soon as possible. It'll feel too easy to blow all the extra money you'll now feel like you have on booze and hookers (b/c you won't be able to meet any real women now).

Or use the opportunity to go back to school.

Living at home as an adult post-HS student (i.e., 25+) is probably the smartest thing you can do w/r/t reducing debt load. I would have done it in law school if I could have, but there weren't any law schools within an hour of Lancaster, unfortunately.

Moving home for a year before starting grad school enabled me to save up enough money to buy a car and not be destitute/need to take out loans as a Ph.D. student so that was nice

Like Bucky and Bakestar said, having a plan for saving to buy a house or go back to school is a good reason to move back home. Doing it to have more money to go out on weekends is less good.

Thanks for asking. He was accepted to the NHS Autism School at Woodhaven in Northeast Philly. I'm taking the tour of the facility later next week, but from everything I've heard, it's one of the best places for an autistic child to learn. The best part about the school is that it guarantees education until 21.
