i'm supposed to get "snow pants" to go snow tubing this weekend. little did i realize these #$&! are like a hundred bucks. anyone know of a cheaper alternative??

this is basically what i do.

i'll do some sweat pants over jeans. double up on the socks. then i'll insert my feet into a plastic bag and tie it off then put my shoe on over top of it. keeps the feet dry. with 2 pairs of socks and 2 pairs of pants i'm pretty solid.

Just get a pair of Nike nylon warm-ups/track pants like Lethal suggested (they're basically the same material as snowpants). You can get them lined or un-lined, and they're fairly waterproof. I wear them over jeans or sweatpants when I'm snowblowing, and it keeps everything dry.

never "fried" an electronic device until just now. bye bye slingbox. however, in the aftermath, i discovered that gazelle.com resells their stuff on eBay. so that's pretty good news.
