Deleted posts are erased from existence. My guess is that you had posts in thread that were moved to the Mods thread. If you really want, I can check, but I have to go pick up BabyVox from school, so it'll be a bit.

this is quite like one of those situations where MLB has dug into the archives to discover that Ty Cobb in fact did NOT steal that 3rd base he was credited with in a meaningless May afternoon ballgame with the St Louis Browns
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

The people I live with need to get another recycling bucket. Got all these empty seltzer bottles and coke zero cans that need to go out, but the bucket is full. Truck doesn't come till Tuesday.

Might have to look into where the town dump is.

This is why Stan Ross had to come back to baseball post-retirement.

When I was in college, my mom would call me once a week. The conversation usually only lasted three minutes. Since I live with my parents now, my mom calls me every day from work. My grandma calls ever day too. We don't have a house phone upstairs so I have to run to the phone if I want to make it. If I don't bother to get the phone, they will keep calling. Ergo, I need to move out soon.

If it was worthwhile to recycle you would get paid for turning it in, not charged/taxed.

This is a compelling argument. I know I've told this story before, but when I was a garbage man at the beach, we ended up throwing the recycling in the trash at least half the time because people throw garbage in the recycling can, and they didn't pay us enough to fish it out.

I also wonder whether the net benefit of recycling exceeds the cost of running separate trucks through the city.

It makes hippies feel better about themselves though. My sister flips her shit when my dad throws recycling in the trash.

The "raw" net benefit of recycling is definitely negative for muncipalities at this time. However, they are incented because certain goals must be met in order to comply with regulations (I'm not sure if they are state or federal). And those regulations must be met in order to qualify for other types of funding.

And WFO, yeah- I do get paid for my recycling!!!

Note I said "at this time". As recycling starts to scale out, and technology improves, eventually it will reach a point where the benefits outweigh the costs. Sorta like solar power in that regard.

I talk to my parents about once a week. If I miss a week, they'll give me a call. I don't think they worry that I'm alive because I IM with my brother daily and my dad can see if I'm logged into gchat.

At least my mom wasn't like this lady: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 98754.html

Trust me, its a worthwhile read (even if you hate it like I did).

my mom is only 20 years older than me, and I just recently moved back out, so we talk quite frequently. My dad and me have a competition to see who can ignore who the longest without getting noticably upset.

How old are you?
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

Serious question, when you are writing emails in a formal setting such as for business or school is there a format you should follow?

I really feel uncomfortable using the internet and its powers in a formal manner.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Wow. I talk to them, on average, once every couple of weeks I guess.

I think it depends on the material--it will probably never be worthwhile to recycle glass, and it's worthwhile to recycle aluminum--so much so that if municipalities would allow it, there'd probably be plenty of meth heads and winos willing to go through people's garbage looking for cans.
