the funny thing about NORAD doing the santa tracking is that it started as an accident- some department store in Colorado had a Santa hotline published in the paper and they made a typo- the typo ended up being a NORAD phone number so the guys who answered the phone would tell he kids that they were tracking Santa thru radar as a lark. It became a little known tradition for years that got bigger publicity when the net spawned their site.
