Okay, technically I am a colored girl, so I was totally looking forward to catching Tyler Perry's new film, For Colored Girls. Now the movie isn't bad, but it is missing some things that I've come to expect from a movie about colored women. First off, where the hell was Angela Bassett? This is the first black-girls-are-doin'-it-on-their-own movie that she wasn't a part of. What's Love Got To Do With It, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and Waiting to Exhale were religious experiences for me. I totally missed her in this. On the plus side the movie does star Janet - Ms. Jackson if you're nasty - BUT she doesn't look like Janet Jackson and she doesn't sound like Janet Jackson, gone is her signature Michael Jackson voice. Weird. I'd say the most disappointing aspect of this movie is that it doesn't have a killer soundtrack. There is no awesome Mary J. Blige song about dumping some deadbeat man because he's all drama. There isn't even a song from Janet! Soundtracks are the best part of movies about black girls (hello, Dream Girls?) so the fact that there is not one song in this movie that makes me want to wave a finger is let down. Ugh, this movie could have been so much better!

In the market for a new (non-smart) phone and really liked what I saw out of the LG Octane at the Verizon store, but the reviews are terrible because people say they are getting a terrible echo when making calls. That sucks.

Other options include the LG Cosmos, which I heard kinda sucks, and the Verizon Salute, which looks pretty basic and wasn't available for me to play around on in the store.

haha i am already using arial! so ugly.

i email the prof the paper too. has to 1in all the way around. if i save it as a pdf and email him that will he be able to tell if i made it like 1.2?

Octane echo issue is being fixed right now, software update pending. I'll give you a heads-up when it's fixed. Other than that issue, the phone's been performing great (although yeah...the echo issue is kind of a big drag).

The Cosmos is stale at this point. It was the Rumor 2 on Sprint for a year and a half before VZW picked it up. You might want to look at the Cosmos Touch instead. It just launched yesterday.

Which store did you go to?

I went to the Verizon store, and the mini-Verizon store inside of the BJ's, which is in the same shopping area. I don't know much about software updates for phones. Does that mean I just have to wait until they send a new batch out? Are you getting a new one because of the issue?

Courier 12. (If your prof is my age or older, it's likely what he or she used as an undergraduate.) In those days, some people handed in stuff that was printed using a nine pin dot matrix printer.

I guess it has to do with how much the team blows, but it's amazing how much the Sixers thread sucks. It's worse than the Flyers thread when the arguments were about fights over whether practice should be held in Philly to accommodate the hungover Richards or whatever that was all about.

The Flyers thread is less bad if you ignore Brantt. Much like the Penn State thread. Also you gotta insta-ignore anyone who hates Carter(PTOITWCFTPP. i'm looking at you) Then again, I don't read the Sixer thread or care about the Sixers, so I'm biased. N E WAY....
