Well, this is a shit way to contract herpes. Not that there's a great way. But still:

He's not actually my academic advisor; it's just the vice chair of the department who apparently has to confirm people's schedules before they can register

And I'd have rather he called me at 8:30 than not call me yet. Come on already.

Sounds about right. Back in march we had a server location go down and our internal systems were down for 3 days. we literally could do nothing for that time.

So basically, Preston and Steve, who are like sort of ambassadors of the Philadelphian culture to the rest of the world, did exactly what you did.
