oh wow, i got very lucky...i forgot that my family was moving up my birthday celebration to today. i was going to go to a picnic but it got rained out and so i went to my parents' house to get some things done and my mother was all surprised i was 'early' for the celebration.

Today was a good day to live in Edinburgh. Sun was out, streets were teeming with festival crowds and I was bombed out of my mind on a potent
mix of endorphins, a sense of accomplishment and being so knackered my legs were quivering when I wasn't turning the pedals. Yesterday I fitted a new chain, chain rings, front mech and rear mech in the space of 2 1/2 hours. Today I did some cycling with a race organiser for 40 miles or so over Some fuck off climbs whilst we did a risk assessment of the course. First time properly riding in over two years. Then we tacked excitedly about
marshalling requirements and road grit.

Went home by way of Holyrood park, daydreaming of the mayhem that would occur if bsg all came to Edinburgh to stay up late and watch baseball in Philly.

Spent the bulk of the day in AC and not one cent gambled. Prolly woulda stuck a buck or two in slots but doesn't seem like there are any that take cash money anymore.

In related news, the non-gambling portion of AC (near the big pond at least) is a lot less skeevy and a lot nicer than I remember. Could be because the last time I was on the boardwalk I think Resorts and the 1st Trump place were the only games in town.....
