Did this really happen or is someone pulling my chain

“If we do nothing, we are no better than the Jews who stood in line for the gas chambers." Sue Bican, Tea Party Leader

The Mille Lacs County Times, that great news giant, actually has it. That seems to be the original source.

Roughly 60 people turned out for the event in which Sue Bican (pictured) told attendees they must resolve to become active, to do something. “If we do nothing, we are no better than the Jews who stood in line for the gas chambers,” Bican said.

This is probably important.

Starting Monday, Philadelphia police will no longer respond to motor vehicle accidents in which vehicle damage is minimal and no one is injured.

Instead, drivers can report those accidents in person or by phone to the police district in which the accident occurred or any other district that's convenient.

I can envision several scenarios in which this would result in bad outcomes.

"Hey man, what you bump me for?"
"Bump nothing, you stopped suddenly."
"Look, I just wanna get your info so I can file a claim."
"You're not gonna get my info, but you may get my fist to your face in a minute."
"Hey, look, don't...I'm going to call up 911 so Barry Jive can (indirectly) save me."
"THEY AIN'T COMIN' NO MORE. Now get the fuck outta here before I give you a real reason to call somebody."

Yeah. Unless:

-someone needs an ambulance
-a vehicle is unmovable
-one of the parties leaves the scene without exchanging information
-a city vehicle is involved

and some other things I don't remember off the top of my head.

It's gonna be a royal pain in the ass. But it should drastically improve overall response time because cops have to go to countless auto accidents every day that could easily be handled over the phone. It'll make dispatching a lot easier.

Actually I'd guess like half the accidents in the city are leaving the scene so it probably won't make a difference.

She's Sue fuckin' Bican, that's who she is.

Actually no, she seems to the member of a small group of Tea partiers who alternate meeting politically and socially. Only when they meet socially it's not a tea party and when the tea party meets it's not social, which is kind of confusing to me when we're talking about a 60ish grey-haired woman.

Anyway, there's still time to facebook friend her before those PC boors drive her underground. Could be worthwhile; she has a smokin' daughter.

Chase Utley should get a sponsorship deal with Big League Chew.

I usually alternate between Mandarin Orange and Raspberry seltzers. The store was out of Raspberry so I got some Wild Cherry today. It's pretty tasty.

My dad and I are having a good time drinking the best part of a handle these past two nights drinking through family problems while yelling at a baseball team.

Judging by the crowd pic, one teapot would've been enough for that tea party.

I love seltzer, but lime seltzer, which is nearly impossible to find, especially since shoprite bought Stop n Shop. I think Wegman's has it, but I hardly go there anymore.

Growing up, lemon lime seltzer was my favorite, but these days I only get it as a change of pace on rare occasion.
