It's funny. I was reading a Rangers thread a little while back on the Giants board I read, and their fans are convinced the refs are out to screw over the Rangers too. Yes, they've set out to alienate two of the four or so biggest hockey markets in the states. It's probably in writing somewhere.

The team won 5-1 yesterday. The guy wasn't even suspended. Jesus Christ.

Without a doubt the worst thread on the board.

I know nothing about hockey, but I would bet hockey is among the most difficult sports to officiate.

HOLY CRAP - is Tucker played by the dude who played Frobisher in Children of Earth? He's an amazing actor - and seeing him do this completely different type of performance (and seeing that he's not as old as they made him look in Torchwood) - wow.

I need to watch this show...

"you never told us you had epilepsy... of the eyes"

(though I'll admit the accent may be making that extra funny to me)

Yeah, Peter Capaldi is the guy. Glaswegian. Been around for a long while. You may recognise him from Local Hero, one of his very early screen appearances.

His character, Malcolm Tucker, is somewhat based on the loud sweary scotsman called Alastair Campbell, who used to be head of communications at number 10 under Tony Blair. The writer of the show always said he was aiming for a cross between yes minister and the larry sanders show. I dream of being able to swear that fluently. First episode of the new series last night nearly burst wizlette's stitches.

Email I just received:

this was on craigslist, but it's been pulled.

http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/act/1430124462.html

From the ad:
"So this might seem strange and really offensive to some but hopefully someone will reply. I have always loved the scene in Empire Strikes Back where Chewbacca has to carry around a half reconstructed C3PO in a backpack because he hasn't reattached his lower body yet. For Halloween I would love to dress up like this. I am big enough and strong enough to both pull off the Chewbacca look and to carry around a lot of weight for the night. So basically I am looking for a double amputee (someone missing both legs - preferably at the hip) to accompany me as C3PO for the evening. "

Whenever I save pictures for avatars or desktop backgrounds or whatever, they end up as icons on my desktop, where I also save all my documents. About once every month or two it starts getting crowded, and I sort everything into its proper folder. I had three pictures on my desktop. All included Jayson Werth.

so uh, apparently two friends of mine just broke up like 2 hours ago and it seems i was sort of involved. got a text last night from the girl asking me if he was ignoring her, i said no he just didnt have his phone. she said 'ok' and I thought that was that. well, apparently it wasn't because he did have his phone and they got into a huge fight about her not checking in with him or something or other, and he then asked me what i talked to her about.

what i'm wondering here is whether i can still be friends with the girl? would it be uncomfortable since he believes she lied to me and she thinks the opposite? I'm wondering if I can remain friends with both of them, I'm friends with them for different reasons, though I probably have a ton more in common with the lady.

pacman, i think you can be friends with both of them if you want to. but in my experience you'll generally end up being closer with one of them, usually whoever you think you're going to end up being closer with. sometimes, people you seem to hang out with all the time, you find you only hung out with them because of some other people who were there.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

This is exactly the reason why I always respond with a simple, "I don't know" when approached about significant others or friends. Even if I know the truth, it's just best to not get involved.

As for your situation, simply explain to her that you were mistaken and move on.

So I think I'm going to drive across the country in the spring, cause I've always wanted to do that.

The April road trip of Atlanta-Arizona-San Fran seems ideal.

She's doing it again.

I was all for ignoring it yesterday, but how often is it acceptable to fill a whole floor with hours of wailing?

How much wailing did she do when you nailed her?

So, is it gay that I want to buy sweaters for my dachshund? I was looking for a Phillies jersey for her, but I came across a site selling, like, designer clothing for dachshunds. There would have to be a noticeable reaction from girls in the park in order to make this worthwhile, but I think it might be worth it.

The reaction will be, "Aw he really loves his cute little dog. Too bad he's gay".

they say "a picture is worth 1,000 words" for a reason

imagine the ways grasping that concept might have helped Steve Phillips
