Politics: Homo abortionists vs the born again gun nuts

I get the point, Sarah is dumb. Or her writer is dumb.

But you tend to write differently if you're giving a speech than if you're publishing an article. This is just piling on, ain't it?
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I think everyone should revise their writing. Way to go, Sarah!

Specter's primary and general election leads: gone.

I'm kind of indifferent between Specter and Seestak, but I might rather cut off my own foot than see another freakazoid right-wing psycho PA Senator, so soon after we got rid of Sen. Frothy Mixture.

I'd enjoy that POS losing so much. If Toomey beats him in the general, my reaction would be about half a step down from what it was when we won the World Series.

He still has his lead in the primary though:

Specter, first elected to the Senate as a Republican in 1980 but who switched to the Democratic Party earlier this year, holds a commanding 55 - 23 percent lead over U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak in the race for the Democratic nomination.

Yeah, I misread the primary numbers--that was Toomey's lead over Sestak, which is largely meaningless because of low name recognition for both of them.

The ideal I guess would be for Specter to retire.

Yes, journalist for the most part has died, and morphed into mind numbing entertainment.

I'm guessing this is just the beginning.

Obama really shouldnt have weighed in on the Gates arrest.

Agreed, especially without knowing all the facts. Frankly, based on what I've heard, I think the officer handled himself exactly as he should have. It seems as though it was probably Gates who created the entire situation. I understand he was in his own house but the responding officer doesn't know that without ID. I don't know how far Gates went after ownership was established but it might be possible that the officer went a bit too far in actually arresting him.

It does go to show, however, that black president or not, this country will ALWAYS have some level of suspicion between races, IMHO.

The officer should have identified himself, when asked. A charge of creating a public disturbance inside your own house is thin.

That's fine, but it's not a matter of Presidential importance and it looks like a "white police v. african-american" issue to a large segment of white America with the President coming down against the cops without knowing all of the facts. I'm not suggesting the cop was right, but the optics are bad and Obama doesn't need to involve himself in it.

I'm the last guy to defend cops, but after reading more and more about what allegedly happened, it's hard to accuse the arresting officer of racism. People get arrested all the time for arguing with cops. And if Gates actually refused to show his DL proving residency, or played the race card (or the "do you know who I am?" card) before anything even happened, then it's not surprising he was arrested. If you question a cop's authority or frame of mind, you risk arrest. Period. Blame the cops for being arrogant, or douchebags, but there's nothing to suggest racism.

If anything, by Harvard stepping in to protect their own, Gates got favorable treatment. Normal people have to actually appear before a court to get the charges dropped. They can't just go to the press and use their political connections.

Ok for him to say he/his team "screwed up" or did something "stupid". Can't be so casual trashing officials of other executive organizations

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/danie ... gh-labour/

I recently asked my friend’s little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up.

She said she wanted to be Prime Minister some day. Both of her parents, Labour supporters, were standing there, so I asked her, ‘If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?’

She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’

Her parents beamed.

‘Splendid: what a worthy goal.’ I told her ‘But you don’t have to wait until you’re Prime Minister to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you £50.

Then I’ll take you over to the supermarket where that homeless fellow hangs out, and you can give him the £50 to use toward food and a new house.’

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked:

‘Why doesn’t the homeless man come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the £50 ?’

I said, ‘Welcome to the Conservative Party.’

Her parents still aren’t speaking to me.
