Fox news- was linked thru above article

Tiller said he is one of three doctors in the U.S. who currently perform late-term abortions. The others are in Boulder, Colorado, and Los Angeles, he said.

Just so right wing zanies don't get all the fun, it looks like a soldier was killed and another wounded in what is being called a terrorist attack by a radical Muslim.

I just saw a Chris Christie campaign commercial. Smartly, he's running against Corzine already, and hitting hard while playing aggrieved.

He's pretty damn fat for a politician though.

So Obama appoints Rep. John McHugh (R), a congressman from Upstate NY, to be his new Secretary of the Army. We're down to two congresspeoples from NY + New England. McHugh, though he's the ranking member on Armed Services, never even served in the army. Blah, Obama won the district with 52% in November, so it'll be another close special election that I'm going to post about whether or not anyone cares.

Fun GM links for today:

Obama: Nationalization of GM to be short-term
"GM will be run by a private board of directors and management team," Obama said. "They — and not the government — will call the shots and make the decisions about how to turn this company around. The federal government will refrain from exercising its rights as a shareholder in all but the most fundamental corporate decisions."

"We're fine with that," Fritz Henderson, president and CEO of GM[, who was installed in his current position after former CEO Rick Wagoner and the incumbent board of directors were ousted by presidential decree], told reporters in New York after the company filed for bankruptcy protection.

NYTimes articleon Obama's go-to guy concerning GM's restructuring: a 31 year old law student who worked on Clinton and Obama's campaign.
“There was a time between Nov. 4 and mid-February when I was the only full-time member of the auto task force,” Mr. Deese, a special assistant to the president for economic policy, acknowledged recently as he hurried between his desk at the White House and the Treasury building next door. “It was a little scary.”

But now, according to those who joined him in the middle of his crash course about the automakers’ downward spiral, he has emerged as one of the most influential voices in what may become President Obama’s biggest experiment yet in federal economic intervention.

I'm surfing through libertarian blogs, and found a story of a guywho had his house taken by federal authorities because of a (possibly fraudulent) complaint by a vengeful city government (which has twice lost in court to this guy). It's an amusing read, if it doesn't agitate you too much. He'll probably get a nice payout when he sues the city.

What's he gonna do about Al Franken? If he signs off on his election, the "base" will never allow him to win the nomination.
