Politics: Homo abortionists vs the born again gun nuts

That was my point. It often has nothing to do with what "God" or Jesus thinks. It's just a cover for an individual's biases and prejudices. That's why religion in general is quite dangerous because bad people use it for their own gain or to justify their twisted beliefs.

There's a difference between thinking that the other guy is misguided and believing that only people of the same faith will achieve salvation while the rest will burn in Hell

There is no difference, when your disagreement is about salvation/heaven/hell.

If I believe that all police officers get 70 virgins in heaven, and you're a police officer, I am believing that you get 70 virgins. That's just what I think, as silly or unfair as you may think it is.

Yeah, I understand that because that's how our crazy, imperfect society works. Doesn't make it fair or right to judge someone entirely on what god or gods they worship though.

It's neither crazy nor imperfect. In fact, it's perfect and logical.

To have a belief is to believe that anyone who does not share that belief is wrong. It's a conceptual truth.

So there's a GOP assembly candidate from South Jersey, I think Salem/Cumberland area, who apparently got in a verbal altercation with his neighbors a few years ago and told them they were acting like n-words. And if they were going to continue acting in such an n-wordish manner they should go to Paulsboro.

Not only is he refusing to withdraw, he's mounting a real gem of a defense.

"Who hasn't said the N-word?" Lucas asked.

Jeff Sessions is pretty gross, no? We can all agree with this statement, can't we?

Jon Corzine is seriously considering naming the winner of season four of the Apprentice to be his LG candidate. I despair for my state.

Obama wants the whole economy!!!!
"I love the folks who helped get us in this mess and then suddenly say, 'Well, this is Obama's economy,'" the president told an outdoor crowd at Macomb Community College, veering off his scripted words. "That's fine. Give it to me. My job is to solve problems, not to stand on the sidelines and harp and gripe."

I think the next 6 monthswill be very important for seeing whether we can get through this crisis.

Ha! I actually have collaborated on a business opportunities with one of the 8a firms he established in Newark. His resume is real impressive (if you block out the Apprentice nonsense). His company does alot of work with HUD and such. We haven't won the bid yet so I haven't seen the man in action. He is a bit of a salesman and loves the MBA jargon.

He actually doesn't seem too bad, but LG of NJ, isn't something I would think would be an entry level position for politics. I guess Corzine is getting strong armed by some of the North Jersey machines into picking an African American or some other minority. The hacks from Essex County had one of their own in mind, so I guess in this case a random, inexperienced black dude with business background beats a generic Newark crony. Now if Cory Booker was interested, that'd be a completely different story. Still, someone like Loretta Weinberg seems worlds more qualified than this dude.

Really? I think it'd be one of the easiest jobs ever. You'd probably be ok as long as you could maintain a pulse, and remind the governor to wear a seatbelt.

LG would be easy. But I've got to think Corzine has like 50/50 odds to end up a cabinet secretary before the end of his second term if he and Obama are both reelected.

Didn't Corzine himself come in as a U.S. Senator? Compared to that, this Apprentice guy would be starting in the mailroom.
