Grote and Mose's Random Thoughts, Live from BSG

Postby jerseyhoya » Tue Mar 10, 2009 09:58:04

Stopped at the liquor store on the walk home so I don't have to go out again later. I was sort of surprised that it was open at 9:30, and it was rather depressing to probably be the only of the six patrons who were inside who wasn't going to begin consuming (and likely finish) my purchase before noon.

He was great in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

What are you watching anyway? I hadn't seen him since.

He had a stand up special on Comedy Central and then was on Letterman last night promoting his new book release. I also saw an article about him the other day, plus, I swear I saw him somewhere else on tv recently.

His stand up act and interview with Letterman were both just him talking about how bad ass he is and how he's famous in Britain but not here. Then he talks about drugs, drugs, drugs, but Russell says he's been sober for years and that no one should use drugs, despite his ranting about all the fun he's had under the influence. So nothing unique and really a trite bit for a stand up comedian. I just don't think he's all that funny from what I've seen, but yet, I've seen him all over the place recently.

I personally think Russell Brand is pretty darn funny....

He was on Stern this morning and it really was a great interview...

Jonathan Papelbon planned to play Texas Hold 'Em the entire flight. "My plan is to slow play the [expletive] out of them and take all their money"

He had no other plans. Reading is out.

if you don't know what the wrestlers are trying to do--how certain moves and holds are supposed to work and so forth, then it might just look like too sweaty guys rolling around on a mat.

Oh. I'm replying to a Steagles post. Um. OK.

The story about Pete Rose is that his autobiography was the first book he ever read. He said he liked it.

Does anyone here actually give a crap (or ever gave a crap) about this octuplets story? I never cared enough to read the original story in the first place, but now I seemingly see truly bizarre headlines every third day. Is there an actual fucking reason I should care or is this some TMZ-esque story intended for the lowest common denominator (my current assumption)?

it's his pregnant wife, I was hoping for random fan, or better yet someone who had no idea who he was, but it's just his wife. it's still weird though.

steagles hates himself for not knowing which of the 2 octuplet story you're speaking of. steagles also hates himself for knowing there are 2 octuplet stories you could possibly be speaking of.

Was he doing coke or X? You go from turtle dick to Dirk Diggler in like 20 minutes which is great for the first hour or so but then you end up feeling bad for the girl, almost like you were pounding a piece of veal with a meat tenderizer.
